Nampa Idaho,

deep to its agricultural roots, is located about 20 miles west of Boise in the middle of the Treasure Valley's agricultural region. The city's population is rapidly growing and currently stands at about 90,000.

Major employers in the area include the Amalgamated Sugar Company, Gayle Manufacturing, NNU, and Mercy Medical Center.

Northwest Nazarene University

located in Nampa, is a Christian liberal arts university which was founded in 1913 and is affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene. A nonprofit Christian university, with a student body of 1469 students, NNU offers over 60 areas of study for undergraduate and graduate students. NNU is one of the Top 25 Military Friendly colleges & universities.

Nampa City and the surrounding rural areas are served by two school districts – The Nampa School District and the Vallivue School District. In 2007, with the monetary support of the Albertson Foundation and the appointment by the Idaho State Board of Education, the College of Western Idaho was launched. CWI is a public, open-access, and comprehensive community college committed to providing affordable access to quality teaching and learning opportunities to the residents of its service area in western Idaho.

Things to do in Nampa Idaho

Nampa has several parks

providing an outside retreat to residents. Lakeview Park, located on the north side of the city, has a wide open areas of grass for picnicking and a pool for summertime cooling off fun.

Lake Lowell is part of the 14.5 square mile reservoir with 28 miles of shoreline and lies within the Wildlife Refuge. Boating, fishing, wakeboarding, flyboard, water skiing, kneeboarding, tubing, wakesurfing, and wildlife viewing are the major recreation activities for Lake Lowell. This lake was originally called The Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge and is an important breeding area for birds and other animals. The Refuge is located on land surrounding Lake Lowell, just outside Nampa. It serves as a resting and wintering area for birds, including mallards and Canada geese, along the Pacific Flyway and was named a "Globally Important Bird Area" by the American Bird Conservancy.
